Often times, we're so focused on just making money until, we forget about the people who are going to actually purchase that service or product from us. Let me give you an example! Let's say for instance I was online selling hair care products to those who are suffering from hair loss.
Your running your ads, generating all the traffic you can generate and people are actually buying your products. But once you have the customers, you don't think to follow up with them to see if they are satisfied with the overall product or if their are any tips you can offer to help speed up their hair growth process. Not to mention, you don't even have a direct line of contact for your customers to contact you.
In my opinion, having an email address as a point of contact is okay, a lot of times emails don't get read. Especially those that goes into the JUNK FOLDER or look like their not interesting enough to be read. Their are lots of ways to work around not giving out your personal phone number. Google Voice, & Text Plus offer prepaid phone numbers just to name a few.
You can use these to forward to your personal phone, or get a number from them and use as a alternative phone number. If you don't have a direct point of contact, how do you think it's looking to you customers?
To me that's an example of being SELFISH and not Networking With A Purpose. The purpose of really caring about your consumers. No matter what type of business your in, you should always have way's to show love for those who are helping your business grow. Being a business owner isn't all about you.
Yes you've built the company, and did all the work but you have to realize that people have a choice to support you or leave you hanging in the balance. If your showing your consumers that you appreciate them, they'll bring in even more consumers. All it takes is for 1 single person the spread the word about you. Once people know your name, what your offering, and how high your customer service is, they will flock to you.
Networking With A Purpose allows you to put your customers needs ahead of yours. Making sure they know that they are an important part of your business and it's not all about the money they're spending on your products or them joining your opportunity. Don't be so quick to try and sell. Let them come to you once they have made up their mind. It's 2014 people! Everyone's going at their own pace and making up their own minds so no matter how much you want or need their business, we shouldn't try to force someone to do something for our own personal gain.
Let's stand together and Network With A Purpose and not just to gain and not give back!
